So, thank you Shinedown for making such a great album but also an incredible song.
Music is an incredible art that can help people feel connected while also, which I think is one of its greatest gifts, the feeling of being embraced and not alone. Though the song means something different for everybody, that night that song meant the world to me. The song talks about feeling paralyzed but to keep remembering to get up and push forward. Even though I knew I was not alone in my pain because there were so many people that loved and missed my dear friend, I felt as if this song was telling me, “you will be ok Chris”. When I started hearing him sing the lyrics I got goosebumps and emotional. The first time I heard this particular song was when they performed it live. I had listened to their music before but there was one particular song I was not familiar with at the time. During this time we were approved to cover one of Shinedowns tour stops in NC. To make myself keep moving forward I kept covering shows for our publication. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. The only thing I knew or understood that I had to do was to keep moving forward.

As I tried to find a way to deal with the crazy batch of emotions that kept exploding in my head as well as my heart, I was also trying to learn how to except the new reality of her being gone. Shinedown still consists of vocalist Brent Smith. As a huge Shinedown fan, I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to talk about the new release, Attention Attention, the band’s sixth studio effort. I felt complete anger and helplessness as I tried to come to terms with what had happened. I t’s been a while since I’ve written a review, and this is my first review for Metal Nation. I lost a dear friend of mine to domestic violence a few years ago and I had a hard time dealing with this loss then and still do today. I do want to mention a side note in regards to this bands music.
